Hungarian at the ‘Center’ Once More

Hungarian International Kata Fulop will suit up for Oaklands Wolves once again in the WBBL. Fulop, a 6’3’’ forward, is the longest running player in Oaklands franchise history having appeared in all campaigns to date. Previously graduating from the Oaklands College academy, Fulop now attends the Wolves partner institution, the University of Hertfordshire, where she is in year 2 of her undergraduate degree.

Returning to the line-up last season following an injury hit campaign in 2019, the strong forward contributed 3.1 points and 4 rebounds in 20 minutes of action per game. Now fully healthy and in the best shape of her career, Fulop will be looking to re-establish herself as a presence in the paint in the WBBL as the Wolves look to put together the strongest forward line-up to date.

Still only 20 years old the Wolves veteran will be looking to use all her experience in the season ahead “I am happy to be back on court with my old teammates and some exciting new arrivals. It’s been a long break from the last season, I am looking forward to being part of WBBL action again and to see how the league shapes up this season.”

Having worked with Fulop throughout her time in the UK, coach Ryan is looking forward to getting back to work with the Hungarian native “Kata has been fantastic throughout her time with the program. She has had some rough years with injury, I’m glad we were able to support her throughout, and I’m confident this year will give her the chance to show her best in this league. Kata is going to be a key part of our success this season as we look to improve our forward line up and be more competitive in the paint.”
