The WBBL side host BA London Lions on Wednesday evening as they look to gain their first win of the season.
Oaklands have had a slow start to the year, suffering an overtime loss against Newcastle Eagles in their season-opener. The Wolves were then handed a 23-point loss against top of the table side Leicester Riders.
The team are determined to find form as since joining the league, they have improved each year and clinched a play-off spot in their most recent season.
Speaking to Head Coach, Lee Ryan, he said: “It’s been the strangest season so far obviously with the impact of the pandemic.
“The first game performance showed that but I was pleased in our first half display against Leicester last week and has given us something to build on.
“We are having to adapt the way we play after losing both our centers to injury in recent weeks.”
Ryan has also recruited a number of star players, including Amari Carter, Greeta Uprus and Merissa Quick.
Oaklands have been led by Uprus and Carter, who are averaging 17 and 12 points respectively.
Young prospect, Louise Rouse, is also contributing with an average of 8.5 points and 8.5 rebounds a game.
Ryan added: “The entire ‘pre-season’ that seemed to go on forever means we are a strong group but all the schemes are now changing as a result of the injuries so this is the first test for this groups togetherness.
“Barking have made a complete roster change after last season… they are aggressive defensively and like to score off their pressure, so taking care of the ball is a big emphasis during our preparation.
“The players need to be focused on our own performance, then be ready to make adjustments as needed as the game develops.”
Lions have started the season well, winning both of their games against Eagles and Nottingham Wildcats.
BA feature Cassie Breen, who is leading the league in points with an impressive 30.5 per game.
Wolves will hope to contain Breen and her teammates as they look to gain their first win of the season.
