Tough day for young Wolves

Wolves boys' three Under-13 CVL teams found the going tough as the action continued at Oaklands, on Sunday.

The game of the day - and possibly the competition so far - saw the Performance team edged out 36-34. The hosts scored the first eight points of the game and led 12-2 at the first break before Ipswich narrowed the margin to 22-18 at half-time. It was still a four point game at the the final break after the sides shared 16 points, but the game was tied with five minutes on the clock before Ipswich scored what proved to be the winning basket 57 second later.

That was the second game of a back-to-back for the Performance team, which may explain the difficult fourth period, as they opened with a 75-18 win against Wolves Development. There was also a big loss for the under-12 boys as they found West Herts Warriors U-13s too big for them, going down 89-11.

There were mixed results for Ipswich in their other two games, they opened the day with a 56-33 win against East Herts Royals before losing the day's final match-up 66-26.
