Oaklands Wolves have signed forward Amy West for the 2023/24 League Season.
The 6’4 SMU graduate most recently played for Whai in the New Zealand National Basketball League. The British native moved to New Zealand at a young age so benefits from duel nationality, which has seen her involved in the Tall Ferns long lists and training camps. In college West averaged 4 points and 4 rebounds in less than 13 minutes of play, something Coach Ryan is looking to build on at Oaklands, saying “I am ecstatic Amy chose us as her first European club to sign for! She is ready to contribute at a high level and at Oaklands will be given the platform to shine. She has unlimited potential and a great attitude towards her development; i’m excited to help her realise it and more!”
West is delighted to be with the St Albans based franchise, adding “I’m so excited to be joining Oaklands in the next step of my playing career. It has been a goal of mine to come back to the UK and play, I’m so thankful for this opportunity to achieve it. I can’t wait to get started with the team and see what we can accomplish.”
