Rouse to Rouse the League on Return to the WBBL

Louise Rouse, a 6’2’’ forward, will return to Oaklands Wolves for the 2021/22 season. The exciting GB U20 prospect will suit up in her gap year for the Oaklands Wolves as she looks to build on one of the most impactful junior debut campaigns in recent memory.

Rouse was highly praised up and down the league last year as the young player carried her dominant WEABL into WBBL competition. The tenacious forward even managed to join the leaderboard for Offensive Rebounds per game, as she showed her competitive nature, appearing in 17 of 19 games before the season was halted.

With season averages of 5 points, 4.3 rebounds on 40% shooting, the young forward will be looking to make a big impact for the Wolves this season as she also prepares for a future away from the UK. The player had this to say about the season ahead “I’m really excited for my second season in the WBBL. I learnt so much last year at Oaklands, and whilst my growth will continue I am also personally looking to make a bigger impact on the team this season.”

Coach Ryan is delighted to have Rouse back for another year “Louise has made ridiculous improvements in her previous two years in the academy, to see where she started to where she is now is testament to her work ethic and the program at Oaklands College. The work is not over, Louise has high ambitions in the game and i’m confident she will achieve them all. We have had a great off-season, despite the disruption of covid, and I know Louise will continue to develop through the season ahead. It’s a really exciting year for her and i’m looking forward to watching it materialise.”
