Junior Games: Weekend Round Up

Wolves under-14 girls development side collected their first victory of the 2021 summer season as they defeated Woking Blackhawks 56-32, on Sunday.

The teams were tied at 10 going into the first break but a Lila Birtwistle trey sent them into the half-time break 26-17 ahead. They opened up a 12 point lead at the final break before wrapping up the victory with a 16-4 fourth period. Birtwistle led all scorers with 15 points.

That victory gave Wolves revenge as the under-12 girls went down 44-33 against Blackhawks. The home side, led by 16 points from Lucy, were never able to recover from an 8-2 first period deficit as they slipped to defeat.

Wolves' boys again found Richmond Knights too strong as they travelled to Twickenham for three games.

Rocky Starr's 11 points weren't enough to prevent the under-12 development side suffering a 72-39 loss, while the under-12 premier team were beaten 90-34.

The under-14 boys premier team never recovered from a 43-17 first period as they lost the day's final game 120-66, Larry Clark and Milic leading the visitors' scoring with 17 apiece.
