Wolves U-12 girls collected their third victory of the season as Brentwood Fire were beaten 59-24 at Oaklands on Sunday morning.
George Walker's team never looked back after a 22-7 first period, and although the visitors trimmed a couple off the lead as Wolves went into the locker room 28-15 ahead, a 17-3 third quarter wrapped up the victory.
Francesca Scott led Wolves with 15 points, with Ruby Marsh adding ten and Elizabeth Whittamen eight as Wolves completed a double over Fire.
In contrast, a good first period couldn't prevent the U-16 girls' difficult season continuing with a 77-53 home loss against Ipswich.
Jorja Smith's side contained four U-14s, but they started well and led through most of the first period before Ipswich scored the final five points to go into the first break 23-20 ahead. That was as good as it got for the hosts as the Suffolk side outscored them 19-10 in the second period before taking a 68-40 lead into the final break before Wolves narrowed the final margin with a 13-9 fourth quarter.
