Big win for U-12 boys

Wolves U-12 boys started their warm-up for a summer game against a travelling American school with a comprehensive 57-14 victory against Reading Rockets on Sunday.

Featuring youngers players from three of Wolves U-13 teams and Jacob Edrupt from the U-14s, Wolves never looked back after finishing the first period on an 18-0 run to lead 22-2 at the first break.

That lead was extended to 30 unanswered points before Rockets scored their only basket of the second period, as Wolves too a 37-4 lead into the locker room at half-time.

Coached by Wolves’ director of coaching Michael Ball, the hosts extended the lead to 49-8 at the final break before winning a scrappy final stanza 8-6.

Edrupt led the scoring with 16 points, with Cormack Kea+rney adding 10, Alex Ryan eight and six apiece from Tristan Ball and Isaac Parrot.

Rockets didn’t go home entirely disappointed as an 11-4 final period helped them pull away to win 27-16 against a Wolves U-12 B side in the day’s second game.

Wolves U-14 girls found champions elect MK Breakers too hot to handle on Sunday as they went down 106-22 in the Land of Concrete Cows.

The hosts were always in control as they extended a 27-6 first period lead to 52-11 at half-time before wrapping things up with a 25-5 third period +and a 29-6 final frame.

Chloe Chan led Wolves with eight points, with Sophie Walsh and Oliva Akers eight apiece.
