Coach Lee Ryan enters his 5th season as the lead performance coach at Oaklands College, during this time he has headed up both the male & female basketball programs and successfully intedgrated our player centrered approach. A graduate of Chichester University with a Sport & Coaching Science background, he combines his theortical understanding with innovated coaching techniques to provide real time improvement in performance athletes.

 

A specialist in individual player development, Coach Ryan has successfully produced a plethera of National Teams players at all age groups since his time at Oaklands. Alongside his academy position, coach has held various staff appointments with the England National Team from 2009; the latest as Head Coach of the England U18 Womens Team for FIBA European Championship competition in 2014 and 2015.

 

Prior to moving to Oaklands College, Coach Ryan spent time learning his craft with various roles across Europe & the Americas. From 2006-2011 he headed up the most successful period in St Vincent Basketball Academy's history, the south coast academy became a talent hub for late developing athletes. This position was held in conjuction with a variety of junior & senior coaching roles with Solent Suns Basketball Club. During his time on the south coast Coach Ryan delivered many successful campaigns with both South Region and Hampshire County squads in national competitions.
